A common element used on magazine websites, and in particular entertainment magazine websites, is the use of a header, which stays the same across all of the website pages.
- Logo - reinforces the brand identity - original typography - clear consistent cross platform presence
- Strapline - reinforce the genre of the magazine - attracts the target audience - USP
- Colour Scheme - creates a clear sense of brand identity - intertextual reference to the media product Mean Girls, which is further referenced through the second edition and the website
- White background - focus group preferred the clean white background to a grey/black background - classier feel, easy to read
- Menu - same categories as in the contents pages - brand identity - reinforces the entertainment genre - makes the website easy to navigate - accessible for the target audience
- Subscribe button - encourages target audience to subscribe - brand loyalty - trying to build a loyal fan base as it is a new magazine
- Social Media bar - Hearst UK have '17 million UK digital unique users, reaching over 22 million fans and followers through their social media platforms including Snapchat Discover' - brand aim to build a large online presence - links with the primary target audience of 16-25 year olds, as stated in the brief, because this specific age demographic would be up to date with modern technology
