PRODUCTION - Front cover date and time

My research showed me that entertainment magazines tend to have the date, time and price in a small font on the front cover and therefore, I adapted my front cover to fit industry layouts.

PRODUCTION - Website masthead

My focus group feedback revealed that my target audience wanted a larger masthead on the website as it would be more effective in creating a clear brand identity and reinforcing the publication and genre.

PRODUCTION - Button bar

From my research, I discovered that entertainment magazine websites often use button bars specific to each section to help with audience navigation and it also helps to anchor the genre of the publication.

PRODUCTION - Additional content

When making my website, I decided to put the content from my contents page into the relevant sections on the extra pages of my website, in order to create a website equivalent to that of a fully working website of a published magazine. I decided to incorporate a similar layout from that of Entertainment Weekly's website.

PRODUCTION - Easter Egg Lightbox

Feedback from my focus group prompted me to update this light-box on my website as now it has an increased focus on audience participation. This is especially important as it is a new publication because it is encouraging growth of the fan base. It also reinforces the call to action on my contents page.

PRODUCTION - @allthingsyoga article update

From my focus group feedback, I realised that my articles on Liberty and @allthingsyoga needed to be more focussed on an element of entertainment in order to fulfill the brief to the highest degree. Therefore, I manipulated my article to be about the new 'Westenders' soap actress Liberty and her role as a yoga instructor and it was this role that made her grow to love yoga.

Feedback from my target audience also suggested that they wanted more photos of liberty alongside the article because they wanted to picture who she was. This prompted me to add some Polaroid style photos of behind the scene action with Liberty and some of her in rehearsals. These photos also help to anchor the entertainment genre of the publication. The call to action at the end of the article also encourages audience participation with the content and the social media links are reflective of my young 16-25 year old target audience, who would be used to using these platforms.
