For my Mean Girls front cover, I want to include various inter-textual references to the film and the Broadway production. Therefore, I began to research the two to find inspiration for some cover-lines that would reference the film/musical and act as anchorage text for the main front cover image.
I started by research some of the most famous quotes from Mean Girls:
"We have some secrets to tell you"
"The plastics are back"
"But you're like really pretty... So you agree? You think you're really pretty?"
"That's why her hair's so big. It's full of secrets" (Put by a hair advert on contents page)
"I'm a mouse, duh."
"On Wednesday's we wear pink"
"Oh my God, Danny DeVito! I love your work!"
"It's so fetch"
"The limit does not exist"
"Your face smells like peppermint"
I also thought about using the song titles/song lyrics from the Broadway version of the hit teen film;
- Where Do You Belong?
- Meet The Plastics
- Regina George is the queen bee
- She always wins Spring Fling Queen
- Like a Jewish Princess Jesus
- My hair is shiny / My teeth are perfect / My skirt is tiny
- Stupid With Love
- Fearless
- I'd rather be me
- Stop
- I see stars
